DMK allots VCK 10 seats (TN 2011)
The ruling DMK on Monday announced a seat-sharing agreement with the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), allotting 10 seats to the Dalit party for the Assembly elections in the State.
“We presented a list of 25 constituencies to the DMK leadership and expected 15 seats. But we have been given 10 seats,” VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan told reporters at Anna Arivalayam after signing the agreement.
Asked whether he was happy with the allocation, he said the VCK did not want to put any pressure on the DMK-Congress alliance.
“As a true friend we want to stand by the DMK at this time of crisis,” he said.
