‘forced out' of AIADMK Alliance

The Agila India Nadalum Makkal Katchi (AINMK) has been deliberately forced out of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance, its founder president and actor M. Karthik said on Tuesday.
In a statement here, Mr. Karthik said that he had handed over a letter of support to AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa early in January after the party approached him with a proposal. After keeping his party waiting for 53 days, the AIADMK's election committee changed its stand on the number of seats discussed initially, leading to uncertainty over seat-sharing. Unable to arrive at any form of respectable and reasonable agreement, the AINMK, after consultations with its district general secretaries, decided to withdraw from the AIADMK alliance.
“More accurately, we have been deliberately forced out of the alliance,” he said, adding that his party would explain its position and circumstances that led to this fallout to people in a few days.
